    About Copperfield Schools

    The seven villages of Copperfield are zoned to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Throughout the history of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, a hearty serving of academic basics has always been stressed. It serves 116,512 students in Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade across 91 campuses. Their vision is held with the acronym, “LEAD” (Learn. Empower. Achieve. Dream).

    District Mission Statement: We will maximize every student’s potential through rigorous and relevant learning experiences preparing students to be 21st-century global leaders.

    The Copperfield Villages are zoned to five different elementary schools in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

    Copeland Elementary School

    Mission Statement: Copeland’s mission is to cultivate lifelong learners one individual at a time.

    Copeland Elementary School opened its doors in 1992. The Cypress-Fairbanks Board of Trustees has a proud tradition of naming schools in honor of individuals who have contributed significantly to the school district and its students. Mr. William C. Copeland was this kind of employee. He spent nearly three decades of service as the Tax Assessor and Collector. The school currently serves students in Pre-K to 5th grade. The school promotes academic excellence in an environment that embraces individual differences.

    Fiest Elementary School

    Mission Statement: Absolutely. Positively. Kids First!

    Fiest Elementary school opened its doors in 1989. Fiest was named in honor of Bernice Fiest, an educator who devoted 37 years of service to the young people of Texas and was certified by the state in seven areas of education. The school currently serves students in Pre-K to 5th grade.

    Holmsley Elementary School

    Vision: At Holmsley Elementary, we do “Whatever It Takes” to develop successful and productive lifelong learners.

    Holmsley Elementary School opened its doors in 1985. The school is named after Tom J. Holmsley, who began his 18-year stint on the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Education in 1964. During that period, he held the offices of president, vice president, and secretary. The school currently serves students in Pre-K to 5th grade.

    Lowery Elementary School

    Mission Statement: Our commitment is to empower every student to reach their academic, behavioral, and emotional potential as measured by state, district, and individual standards. We will provide a comprehensive system of accountability and support to assure the success of all Lowery students. Through a safe environment, we will promote the development of respect, responsibility, and citizenship.

    Lowery Elementary School opened its doors in 1981. Lowery Elementary School honors Mr. and Mrs. M.O. Lowery. The family farmed the area known as “Middlegate” in the Copperfield Subdivision. Mr. Lowery served the community in various civic organizations in addition to serving as a member of the Cypress Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees. The school currently serves 910 students in Pre-K to 5th grade. The school is committed to providing an encouraging, challenging, enriching and safe environment for all students. Their goal is to give each child the tools needed to be a successful and responsible citizen in their community, their country, and their world.

    Owens Elementary School

    Mission Statement: Owens Elementary School will foster scholars who achieve at their highest level through engaging instruction, high expectations and a community of trust and respect.

    Owens Elementary School opened its doors in 1983. Owens Elementary School was named after Eleanor and Carl M. Owens who collectively devoted 85 years of service to children in public schools of the State of Texas. Mr. Owens was principal of Post Elementary in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD from 1964 until his retirement in 1976. The school currently serves students in Pre-K to 5th grade. One of the school’s goals is for all learners to believe in their power to succeed and own their future.

    Middle Schools

    Aragon Middle School

    Mission Statement:Our mission is to inspire, motivate, and support the growth and achievement of all learners.

    Aragon Middle School opened its doors in 2001. The school’s namesake was a Cypress-Fairbanks ISD staff member for 35 years. She taught English, history, and sociology at Arnold Junior High School and Cy-Fair High School for 16 years. Ms. Aragon was an assistant principal at Cy-Fair High School before being named the principal of Dean Junior High School. She opened Cook Junior High School as its principal and, in 1989, became the principal of Cypress Creek High School until her retirement in 1996. The school currently serves students in 6th through 8th grade. Aragon Middle School’s vision is to be an exemplary school community dedicated to the highest standards of quality at all levels and in all endeavors.

    Labay Middle School

    Labay Middle School follows the general Cypress-Fairbanks ISD mission statement.

    Labay Middle School opened its doors in 1984. Labay Middle School is named for Allen F. Labay, who devoted 38 years to education and 27 years in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Labay was the superintendent of schools when Labay Middle School was built and he led the district during rapid growth, launching the community into future successes in education. The school currently serves students in 6th through 8th grade.

    Cypress Falls High School

    Cypress Falls High School follows the general Cypress-Fairbanks ISD mission statement.

    Cypress Falls High School opened its doors in 1984. The school mascot is the golden eagle and their colors are green and gold. The school’s goals include graduating all students college, career, or military ready and to make all students and staff better versions of themselves. The school serves students in 9th-12th grade. The school offers a variety of athletic teams and extracurricular activities.

    Langham Creek High School

    Langham Creek High School follows the general Cypress-Fairbank ISD mission statement.

    Langham Creek High School opened its doors in 1985, making it the fourth high school in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Langham Creek, located in an area formerly known as Wolf Corners, adopted as its mascot the Lobo. The area was once known to have wolves roaming the area around FM 529 and Barker Cypress. The school colors are red, black, and white. Prior to the opening of Langham Creek High School in the fall of 1985, the newly built Labay Junior High served as the interim campus for Lobo staff and students for the 1984 school year. In the fall of 1985, the 453,000 square foot building opened its doors to approximately 1,400 students. The school currently serves students in 9th through 12th grade. Langham Creek High School’s goals include inspiring all who enter to reach their maximum potential, graduation and post-secondary education plans for every student, to have 100% of students involved in at least one extracurricular or service activity, and more.
