2. Tire Swing

A tree swing is another project that can be completed in less than a day. You will need chain, rope, a drill, wood for the seat, and a healthy tree to hang it from. Buying a pre-made tree swing can make this project even easier! Click here to purchase one from Amazon for less than $50!

3.  Raised Garden Bed

This project is perfect for DIY fans with a green thumb. Get ready to enjoy your own home-grown herbs and vegetables! A garden bed will allow you to maximize your backyard garden space, gain better control over the soil, reduce soil compaction, and care for your plants easier. Lowe’s shares how to build a garden bed for your specific space in the video below!

4. Outdoor Lighting

Brightening up your backyard is easy! Consider hanging lanterns, lining wired lights on your trees, or adding some fixtures along your walkway. Your backyard can be a soothing retreat with a bit of ambient lighting!

5. Pathway

Do you find yourself constantly getting your feet dirty from walking through the grass to get to your backdoor? Dodge the dirt by laying and spacing out large, flat stones to create an entrancing pathway! Backyard stones are simple to set up.

You may need to remove a section of grass from your backyard, then rake the dirt until it is flat prior to placing the stones down. Placing smaller stones alongside the larger ones will give the pathway a better flow. One of the most popular pathway trends is stamped concrete. Stamped concrete will allow you to create a beautiful backyard space while potentially increasing the value of your home.

6. Outdoor Art Haven

Mount a giant chalkboard against the fence and get the kids outside to embrace their creative skills! Click here to learn how to make an install an outdoor chalkboard.
